ULAK Haberleşme Files 113 Patent Applications in the Field of 6G

ULAK Haberleşme AŞ (ULAK) has filed 113 patent applications focusing on 6G technologies.

According to a written statement by the company, ULAK contributes to Türkiye’s communication technologies with domestic and national products designed for mobile and broadband communication systems used by commercial network operators.

ULAK, which continues to increase its patent applications in the field of 6G, has so far filed 113 patent applications as a result of its R&D efforts.

Of these applications, 30 were submitted at the international level under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), 7 in the United States, and 76 as national patent applications. Additionally, 27 patents have been granted, one of which was approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and 26 by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

ULAK’s R&D team focuses on invention development efforts based on their academic expertise and current standardization activities.

The company is conducting R&D studies on artificial intelligence, non-terrestrial networks, channel control mechanisms, multiple access techniques, non-cellular networks, and Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies for the development of 6G technology.

One of ULAK’s goals is to produce Standard-Essential Patents (SEPs), which will define the standards for 6G technology.

Through collaborations with universities and academics, ULAK simultaneously advances its technology development and patenting processes. The company’s Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights team manages the patent portfolio while also working on the protection, commercialization, and related efforts for intellectual property rights.
