Strategic Cooperation in Wireless Communication Between ULAK and Netaş

July 25 | 2025

ULAK Communication Inc. and Netaş Telecommunication Inc. have signed a strategic cooperation protocol aimed at developing national solutions for wireless communication infrastructures.

The 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), where Anadolu Agency (AA) serves as the “Global Communication Partner,” is ongoing at the Istanbul Expo Center (IFM), hosted by the Ministry of National Defense, supported by the Presidency of Defence Industries, and organized under the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation by KFA Fuarcılık AŞ.

At an event held as part of IDEF 2025, a cooperation protocol was signed between ULAK Communication Inc. and Netaş Telecommunication Inc., aiming to develop national solutions for wireless communication infrastructures.

Under the signed protocol, the goal is to design, develop, test, and integrate current and next-generation wireless access infrastructures with local engineering.

By combining ULAK’s national 4.5G and 5G base station solutions with Netaş’s technological expertise in radio access networks and defense communications, the aim is to develop highly secure and low-latency systems.

The fixed and mobile communication infrastructures to be created through domestic design and production will not only provide significant technological advancement but also offer high added value in terms of supply chain security.

Netaş’s IP-based communication network solutions, along with servers, power systems, and microwave transmission systems, will be integrated with ULAK’s domestically developed communication solutions for public safety, disaster response, and mobile tactical fields, creating secure and flexible network solutions for both civilian and military users.

This cooperation between ULAK and Netaş will support the development of national technologies across a wide range from defense to civil communication and will strengthen Türkiye’s strategic autonomy in the field of communications.

“It will serve many strategic users, primarily telecom operators”
ULAK Communication General Manager Ruşen Kömürcü stated during his speech that they believe the cooperation agreement will lead the way in making domestic solutions a standard in Türkiye’s wireless communication infrastructures.

Kömürcü said, “The jointly developed products and systems targeted through this protocol will serve many strategic users, primarily public institutions, defense industry organizations, and telecom operators.”

Netaş CEO Sinan Dumlu also stated that this cooperation is not merely a technical partnership but a step that contributes to Türkiye’s vision of digital independence through a shared spirit of engineering.

Dumlu added, “This protocol is a new and important milestone in the ongoing cooperation between ULAK and Netaş for the establishment of a national and domestic ecosystem in wireless communication.”
