The new version of the nationally developed network technology SD-WAN attracted attention with its superior performance during a NATO exercise.

The CWIX25 (Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXploration, eXperimentation, eXamination, eXercise) exercise, led by NATO Allied Command Transformation, was held at the Joint Force Training Centre in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The exercise brought together more than 40 allied nations, with over 2,700 participants testing more than 600 capabilities across five operational domains.

CWIX25 stood out as the world’s most comprehensive technology integration exercise, where advanced digital interoperability standards supporting NATO’s Multi-Domain Operations vision were tested. Throughout the exercise, information sharing was enabled via the Federated Mission Networking (FMN) environment, which links national laboratories, allowing next-generation technologies to undergo intensive testing before deployment in the field.

In this context, ULAK Communications Inc., representing Türkiye, successfully tested the new version of its nationally developed SD-WAN solution, marking another significant milestone. The product, tested in alignment with operational requirements during the exercise, successfully passed 93 evaluations in terms of both security and interoperability.

The inclusion of national technologies on global platforms such as this highlights Türkiye’s strategic capabilities in defense and communications.

ULAK SD-WAN goes beyond traditional Wide Area Networks (WANs) by adopting a software-defined and centralized network management approach. This enables institutions to manage multi-branch connections more securely, flexibly, and efficiently. With features such as dynamic traffic routing, real-time application prioritization, centralized policy control, and end-to-end encryption, SD-WAN ensures maximum cybersecurity and network performance.

ULAK SD-WAN offers a strategic solution, particularly for institutions with multiple branches and distributed structures. Currently in active use at more than 1,400 locations across Türkiye, the product’s strong performance during CWIX25 clearly demonstrates its potential as a competitive and reliable option in the international market.

The collaborations and integrations realized through this initiative further enhance the contribution of Türkiye’s national network solutions to the global security architecture.

With its success at CWIX25, ULAK Communications has once again proven its ability to provide secure, flexible, and high-performance communication solutions for NATO missions.

ULAK Communications General Manager Ruşen Kömürcü shared the following remarks on the exercise:
“During the tests conducted as part of CWIX25, the compliance of our domestically developed SD-WAN solution with international security and interoperability standards has once again been confirmed. This success clearly reflects our country’s engineering expertise and capacity for strategic product development in the field of communication technologies. As ULAK Communications, our primary goal is to develop national network solutions that strengthen Türkiye’s digital sovereignty and to integrate these solutions into the international security architecture to generate global value.”
