ULAK Communications Certifies Its Defense Industry Competence with the “A Certificate”
ULAK Communications has been awarded the highest qualification level, the “A Certificate,” under the Industrial Competency Evaluation and Support Program (EYDEP) conducted by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB).
Valid for five years, this certificate signifies the official recognition of ULAK’s outstanding performance in critical areas such as product development capability, production capacity, human resource quality, process management, and technological infrastructure.
EYDEP is a certification system that objectively evaluates companies in the defense industry ecosystem based on their production, quality, human resources, and technological infrastructure. Within the program, companies are classified according to their scores. Firms scoring between 85–100 points are granted the A Certificate, those between 70–84 points receive the B Certificate, and those between 50–69 points receive the C Certificate. Companies scoring C and above are eligible for EYDEP certification.
The A Certificate represents the highest level of achievement within EYDEP. With this certificate, companies gain the right to directly participate as prime contractors in SSB projects and acquire the capability to bid for large-scale projects addressing the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. Moreover, A-level firms are recognized as reliable suppliers by international defense industry companies, significantly enhancing their export potential.
By obtaining this certificate, ULAK Communications demonstrates not only its technological and operational competence but also its visionary approach, continuing to contribute strongly to Türkiye’s strategic goal of strengthening its defense capabilities with indigenous and national solutions. Known for its locally developed critical communication infrastructures, ULAK plays an active role in defense projects with technologies such as 5G base stations, secure communication solutions, and private network infrastructures.
Commenting on the achievement, ULAK Communications’ General Manager R. Ruşen Kömürcü Ph.D. said:
