C-V2X-based OBU units installed in vehicles are designed for communication with surrounding vehicles, pedestrians, and traffic infrastructure. Cellular data access will also be enabled.
The OBU (On-Board Unit) product has been developed within the scope of V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication technologies and is designed to provide seamless and reliable communication with C-V2X-based RSU (Roadside Unit) and other OBU units. Fully compliant with the 3GPP Release 15 standard, the product supports LTE and 5G infrastructures, offering easy integration with next-generation mobile communication systems. Compatibility with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 technologies enables multi-connection capability and extended access. GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) support enhances positioning accuracy, and hardware security module (HSM) integration ensures a high level of data security and reliability. With its easy integration feature, the system can be effortlessly adapted to different vehicle platforms and stands as one of the fundamental components of the V2X ecosystem with its secure, fast, and flexible communication infrastructure.
Developed by ULAK Communications, the OBU is effectively used in many different application areas due to its advanced communication capabilities. With support for V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2I (Vehicle-to-Infrastructure), it enables data exchange between vehicles and between vehicles and infrastructure units, making traffic monitoring and management smarter and more dynamic. Safe driving conditions are ensured by timely transmission of real-time road condition data and road safety alerts to drivers. The OBU can be integrated into smart city infrastructures and, by providing location-based services, can deliver instant data to drivers about regional information, navigation, and service points. With its V2P (Vehicle-to-Pedestrian) feature, the system can also interact with pedestrians, offering solutions aimed at increasing pedestrian safety in critical areas such as busy crosswalks and school zones.
