Upon returning to Türkiye that same year, Dr. Nacar began his academic career at Harran University as an Assistant Professor. His research focused on grid computing, cloud computing, and high-performance computing. He successfully led and completed several large-scale research projects supported by institutions such as the Ministry of Development, TÜBİTAK, and the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) Administration.

Dr. Nacar held various leadership roles at Harran University, including Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2009–2010), Industrial Engineering (2010–2011), and Computer Engineering (2010–2014). He also served as Director of the Center for Information Processing Research and Application (2009–2013) and Director of the Information Technologies Research and Application Center (2013–2016). Between 2015 and 2017, he held the position of Advisor to the Rector, and from 2016 to 2017, he served as University Secretary General.

On May 16, 2017, Dr. Nacar was appointed Deputy General Manager for Education and Simulation Technologies at HAVELSAN. In 2018, he assumed the role of Chairman of the Board at EHSİM (Electronic Warfare Systems Engineering Inc.).

Since 2017, he has served on the Board of HAVELSAN’s Silicon Valley-based technology company, Quantum3D, where he has held the position of Chairman of the Board since 2020. He is also Vice Chairman of the Board at Cornea Aviation Systems Inc., a joint venture established in 2018 by HAVELSAN and Turkish Technic to develop in-flight entertainment systems. He initially joined Cornea’s Board of Directors in 2019.

Dr. Nacar has played a key role in strengthening university–industry collaboration throughout his career. He was a founding member and board member of Şanlıurfa Technopark and has served on the R&D Board of KOSGEB. He has also acted as the Provincial Representative for the Ministry of Industry and Technology’s Public–University–Industry Collaboration (KÜSİ) initiative and as a university representative for the Turkish Patent Institute’s Intellectual Property Rights Project.

In addition, he has worked extensively as a consultant, reviewer, panelist, and monitor for a wide range of national R&D and entrepreneurship programs, including TÜBİTAK TEYDEB, Santez, and Teknogirişim. He has contributed to various panels organized by TÜBİTAK KAMAG and the Ministry of Development and has served on advisory boards such as the TÜBİTAK Ulakbim TRUBA Advisory Board and the TÜBİTAK TEYDEB Cloud Computing Advisory Board.

He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at ULAK Communications Inc.
