CYBER SECURITY ON BROADBAND NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE
Nowadays securing our digital information has been prioritized, where the internet is essential to corporate and individual users. Errors and security flaws on networks cause huge problems on our lives, businesses even on economic sectors. Cyber security is an approach to secure information on broadband networks. This term covers all the things ranging from an email sent by an individual user or an information provided by a webpage to preventing intrusion on critical infrastructures with international importance.
When we look at communication systems, we primarily see a network composed of other networks. The actual power of these systems lies with the connections between these networks. However this can be a huge weakness as well. Thus, the need of protecting the critical information requires possessing an end to end secure network. A secure end-to-end network can only be established if all the components starting from the application layer (OSI Layer 7), where the users are interacting with the network, to the physical layer (OSI Layer 1) is secure
CYBER SECURITY ON BROADBAND NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE
With UNI 1.0 SDN&NFV based network technologies (MİLAT) project, equipping all the infrastructure with software defined networks from smart phones, that is on the furthermost edge on mobile communication systems, to the servers on the data centers, the following competencies and functionalities are acquired :
- Secure/dynamic routing, cyber deception via IP masking
- Delaying and preventing malicious content on network level
- Anomaly detection system (ADS)
- Identification Defence System (IDS) and Basic Firewall (FW)
- Preventing DDoS Attack
